Fraser Special Project Grant
The Fraser Special Project Grant was made possible by Alleen and Jefferson Fraser, beloved music teachers in the Rochester City School District and musicians who enriched our community with their music and generosity, in their lifetimes and for future generations.
The Rochester Flute Association’s Special Project Grant was established to provide financial support for a member of the Rochester Flute Association to fund a music-related project.
Deadline: January 31, 2026. All applicants will be notified by March 1, 2026
Award: a one-time monetary grant of $1500
Eligibility:
Any flutist who is a current RFA member (no age restriction). Applicants may join the RFA at the time of their application.

Within one year of receiving funding, award recipients will be expected to provide a written report or video description of how they were able to achieve their goals due to receipt of this support.

- A biography or résumé not exceeding two pages, including the applicant's name, address, email address, phone, education, and (if applicable) professional or occupational information
- A written proposal, not exceeding 1000 words, describing your project and how it will help your musical journey. An audio or video recording may accompany the application, but is not required.
- Attending a masterclass or convention
- An instrument purchase
- Purchasing music technology
- Making a recording
Evaluation criteria:
The recipient will be chosen based on:
- The project’s potential impact on the applicant’s education, profession, or avocation in music
- The applicant’s ability to describe a project that will be made possible through this grant funding
