With a career spanning over four decades, jazz flutist Ali Ryerson consistently ranks among the top flutists in the Downbeat Jazz Poll. Ali has recorded and/or performed with jazz greats such as Red Rodney, Roy Haynes, Kenny Barron, Frank Wess, Hubert Laws, Stephane Grappelli, Harold Danko, Mike Mainieri, Joe Beck, and was recently featured in a guest performance with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. Ryerson's groundbreaking Jazz Flute Big Band, developed over the past 14 years, released their debut CD in 2013, Game Changer (Capri Records). The album hit the "TOP 10" on the US Jazz Charts for six straight weeks.
Equally at home on the orchestral stage, Ali performed with Julius Baker and Luciano Pavarotti as the principal flutist with the Monterey Bay Orchestra. As an educator/author, Ryerson published the widely acclaimed Jazz Flute Practice Method and released her Jazz Flute Masterclass DVD (Lessonface). Ms. Ryerson currently is the Professor of Flute at Sacred Heart University, and conducts master classes worldwide.
